Comfort: straps and padding

The stock solo knit band is fine for demos, not for writing sessions. Third-party dual-band systems reduced cheek pressure by distributing weight across the crown and occipital pad. Look for machine-washable face cushions if you share the device.

Vision: prescription inserts vs. lenses

Zeiss-certified inserts preserved edge clarity better than universal adapters in our optometrist-supervised test. Installation takes patience—budget 20 minutes your first time. Avoid magnetic snap lenses that can scratch the main glass.

Protection and travel

Rigid cases with microfiber-lined bays prevented micro-abrasions during backpack commutes. Silicone front covers are optional; they slightly soften contrast in bright rooms.

LED “decoration” shells, uncertified charging docks, and ultra-cheap lens wipes (leave residue). These scored poorly on safety and warranty compliance.
